🎉 First research paper from the lab is published: multi-species limb atlas and an axolotl story
We generated a comparative single-cell atlas of limb development across five species (frog, axolotl, mouse, chicken, and human), revealing broad conservation of major cell types. Our work established a quantitative framework for evolutionary cell biology approaches to regeneration, and resolved a long-standing debate surrounding axolotl limb development and regeneration. Critically, findings in this work suggests that mammals (including humans) retain the cellular and genetic

đź“– New review paper: to regenerate or not to regenerate?
We reviewed vertebrate appendage regeneration models, focusing on frog tail and limb regeneration and mouse digit tip regeneration, comparing their strengths, limitations, and biological contexts. We discuss how these models can be instrumental in distinguishing true regenerative responses from amputation-induced injury responses, which are often difficult to disentangle. https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/wrr.13000
